Meet Brittany

Founder of Carolina Nanny Co. | Nanny, Newborn Care Specialist, Postpartum Doula

Hi, I’m Brittany — the heart behind Carolina Nanny Co.

I’ve always known I wanted to work with children. While my original dream was to become a NICU nurse, life gently steered me in a different direction. At the time, I was navigating undiagnosed ADHD, and nursing school just wasn’t the right fit. But my heart never wavered — I knew my path would still lead me to serve families and little ones in a meaningful way.

When I transferred to East Carolina University, I found my stride. I majored in Family and Community Services with a Child Development concentration and never looked back. My time at ECU — including an eye-opening internship with the Guardian ad Litem program — gave me a deeper understanding of the complex dynamics within families, and it sparked a lifelong commitment to creating safe, nurturing spaces where children and parents can thrive.

I began working as a nanny during college, and after graduation, I returned to the preschool I once attended — this time as a teacher. Then the world shifted. The COVID-19 pandemic brought change for all of us, and for me, it marked the start of a new chapter: I transitioned into full-time nanny care. That decision eventually blossomed into Carolina Nanny Co., a one-woman practice rooted in trust, intention, and a deep respect for the early years.

Now, as I continue my professional growth as a Newborn Care Specialist and postpartum doula, I see this work as a full-circle return to my earliest calling — walking alongside families during their most tender seasons.

Whether I’m supporting newborns, toddlers, or tired parents, I show up with calm, kindness, and a steady presence. I believe in connection before correction, and I hold space for families to feel seen, supported, and just a little more rested. From sleep shaping to sibling transitions, my work is always rooted in presence and partnership.

A Little More About Me

Beyond the nursery and playroom, you’ll usually find me soaking up coastal sunshine or heading out for a spontaneous day trip. I’m happiest near the ocean — a coastal grandma at heart — and I have two sweet dogs, Peaches and Pepperoni, who keep me on my toes. I love trying new crafts (even if they don’t turn out quite like Pinterest promised), wandering through outdoor markets, and spending slow Saturdays with a good coffee in hand.

Carolina Nanny Co. isn’t just a business — it’s the expression of everything I care about most: building trust, honoring childhood, and helping families feel a little more held. I’m honored to be a small but steady part of so many families’ stories.
